What I am concern about is how to use VoIP
, once I get power failure. First of all, All of equipment including, VoIP adapter, Cable/ADSL modem, and Router( and Cordless Phone in case) need to connect UPS( battery back-up). One problem here, they all consume too much power, and I can use them less than 30 minutes. Motorola work with Comcast which is a major Cable comapny in US to roll out SBV5220, namely eMTA( embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter). It combines with Cable Modem, VoIP adapter, and Battery Back-up system. Yes, It must work with ISP company, if you do want Data Modem and Voice Modem together. The ISP company, Comcast, will assign you two IP addresses for Computer and built-in VoIP adapter. This is a great idea to avoid router/AP halt or crash from heavy loading casued by VoIP adapter.
According to my experience, it will overcome l most current drawbacks of SIP phone and compete with Skype Wi-Fi Phone, because there are no more problems of compatibility of router with VoIP adapter. ||

Motorola SBV5220 應該是提供VoIP服務 ISP 公司對抗Skype Wi-Fi電話的最大武器。因為直接提供Data Modem和Voice Modem 可以把Data資料和Voice資料流分開(embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter, eMTA)，如此一來使用NAT分享IP的Router/AP(路由器)不在承擔從VoIP adapter數位Voice 的資料流，也就不會有任何不相容的問題。解決了這個根本問題，VoIP 電話服務，直可媲美傳統電話，而語音品質佳沒有網路設備問題但電話功能殘缺不齊的Skype這時候就成了次等選擇，更何況獨立於電腦外的Skype Wi-Fi phone仍未推出。
